Evidence and room constraints
This guide proposes a rehearsal method. PartySetupLab has not performed or published the physical trial described here.
Constraints first
- A home rehearsal cannot certify a different room’s permissions, dimensions or surfaces.
- Use actual measurements when available and label estimates explicitly.
Separate known dimensions from guesses
On the plan, label each dimension measured, provided by the venue or estimated. A booking photograph can suggest a desk exists without establishing its usable size. Keep an alternative card-only display ready when the key dimensions remain unknown.
Measure the whole object you intend to place: base, opened book, extended frame foot or complete stand feet. Mark the usable boundary of your trial surface with loose paper rather than attaching anything to an unapproved finish.

Make a footprint, then check the view
Cut or fold paper to represent the actual base of each item you own or have reliable dimensions for. Arrange the core pieces first. For upright elements, a temporary paper face can show whether the message is concealed, but it does not test a product’s stability.
Look from the intended entrance and seated positions as closely as the trial space permits. Record what disappears or overlaps. If you need an imagined extra shelf to make the layout work, revise the plan instead of treating the rehearsal as successful.
Rehearse the entire working sequence
Start with the packed bag, not with all parts neatly arranged on the table. Note the order you open containers, identify a support and place the message. Then collect packaging and reverse the process. Missing components and awkward repacking are useful findings.
If you time your own rehearsal, write down the start and end definitions and any interruptions. Keep unpacking, assembly, final checks and repacking distinguishable. One home result is your observation for those conditions, not a universal setup time or a PartySetupLab product test.
Use the findings to remove complexity
Create three correction lines: missing part, blocked space and unnecessary step. Resolve the core display before considering optional accents. A piece that only fits after moving essential room furniture is a candidate to remove.
Save your corrected manifest with the assumptions still visible. On arrival, recheck the actual room and permission before using the plan. A rehearsal reduces unknowns in your own workflow; it does not turn an estimate into a venue guarantee.
